Geelong and Surf Coast land options

Times are tough for first home buyers looking for land in the Geelong region. Competition for land is hot with buyers finding it harder and harder to secure a good sized lot, at a reasonable price.

Land is scarce in traditional first home buyer regions such as parts of Grovedale, Leopold and Waurn Ponds, and the situation is no better for second and third home buyers with areas like Torquay effectively running out of available blocks.

Armstrong Creek offers some hope, although again, competition has been fierce for lots in Warralily – the first estate released as part of the much-anticipated Armstrong Creek development. As more and more lots are released, it’s hoped that the competition will settle, giving first home buyers more of a chance of achieving their dream of living in Geelong’s newest suburb.

At present, your best bet is seeking a house and land package with one of the builders that have snapped up lots. Some are available at Warralily, while there are others at Leopold, Lara, St Leonards, St Albans Park, Ocean Grove, Indented Head and Waurn Ponds.
